Rare & Scratchy Rock ‘N Roll

This is the third and final episode in our podcast trilogy covering the careers of two singers who were one of the most successful duos in music history – Simon & Garfunkel.

We’re spotlighting their solo recording efforts before they came together for superstardom in the mid-1960s and then their many decades of individual hit songs after their act came apart in 1971.

This presentation traces Paul Simon’s evolution from a teen rocker in the 1950s to a sophisticated and successful solo musical story teller in the 1970s and subsequent decades.

You’ll hear his connections with artists as Carole King, Phoebe Snow, the Oak Ridge Boys, Randy Newman, Annie Lennox, the Everly Brothers, and Mumford & Sons, among many others.

This includes all of his hit singles as well as his failed 45s that should have charted, but didn’t –– all in chronological order, along with the original versions or hit remakes by other artists.
